Star Wars: The Mandalorian Season Two Director List Grows

Looks like two directors felt the Force on Star Wars Day and used social media to make it official and confirm that they are indeed part of the Season Two director lineup for the Disney+ smash hit series "The Mandalorian"

EW was the first to report that Payton Reed (Ant-Man) and Robert Rodriguez (Alita: Battle Angel) both took to Twitter not long after one another to make it known that yes, they have directed at least one chapter each for the sophomore season, which kicks things off this October.

Both posted a small statement with an accompanying photo, Reed's, a simple black and white of Mando's helmet sitting on a chair with his name on it, and Rodriguez, posing with "The Child" , who he refers to as "the biggest star in the universe"

We've had some other confirmations as to who else will be helming a chapter or two, with Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni, and Season One star Carl Weathers all confirmed to hold the megaphone at least once. There's been rumors that Rick Famuyiwa will return to direct a chapter but that hasn't been confirmed yet by Disney or Lucasfilm.

No word on how many chapters will be in the second season which wrapped production in March, but most likely will mirror the first which had eight chapters, and coincidentally, five directors. So, does that mean we shouldn't expect anymore more announcements on the directorial front? Who knows, but obviously the social media embargo has ended so we should hear something sooner rather than later.
