Star Wars Detours

Is Disney Planning To Release Star Wars Detours?

Posted by Dustin on June 14, 2018 at 02:33 PM CST

Just prior to the Disney purchase of Lucasfilm, Seth Green and Matt Senreich (Robot Chicken) had been working on an animated Star Wars series titled "Star Wars Detours". They had been working on it for 4 years, wrote 62 scripts, and had 39 episodes completed before the Disney purchase when it was then shelved to usher in the new era of Star Wars under Kathleen Kennedy.

Fans had pretty much wrote this series off thinking it may never be released to the public. However, today comes news of several official trademarks being filed for the name "Star Wars Detours". This is a sign that something is happening with this series after all. Why would they be filing trademarks on a show 7 years old that has never seen the light of day? My guess is the new Disney Direct Streaming service coming in 2019. They are prepping now for that launch, and want there to be as much new content as possible no matter how old to draw in new subscribers. 2019 is going to be crazy for Star Wars fans!

Here is the post over at Reddit linking to all of the official filings.
