Director Jon Schnepp Says He's Certain That Kasdan Is Writing A Boba Fett Spinoff
Posted by Eric on January 3, 2014 at 11:56 AM CST |
Jon Schnepp, who has directed and produced for the TV show Metalocalypse and worked on other shows like Mind of Mencia and Aqua Unit Patrol Squad 1, claimed in an interview on AMC Movie Talk that the first Star Wars spinoff film will be written by Lawrence Kasdan and will focus on Boba Fett.

"One of them is Boba Fett," Schnepp said, referring to the Star Wars spinoffs. "It is. I know. I know for a fact. I will never reveal my source, but it is the one written by Lawrence Kasdan."

Schnepp's spinoff comments come at around 4:05 in the interview (via Yahoo Movies UK).

We've certainly heard this rumor before, but no one has sounded quite as confident as Schnepp. Whether or not he is right depends largely on what Disney hopes to accomplish with the spinoff movies. Are these Avengers-style tie-ins to the first episodic trilogy (VII-IX), or are they completely independent projects that Disney will use to keep franchise at the top of everyone's minds in between those episodes? We might have to wait several years before we can say for sure.
