TFN Rebels Review: "The Wynkahthu Job"

Posted by Ryan on May 22, 2017 at 11:53 AM CST

We have reached the slow moving part of Rebels Season 3.

Last week's episode, Iron Squadron, slowed the momentum a bit, and now we have back to back episodes in which the purpose was not evident.

This episode was better than the previous week's, but it still lacked the arc connection that can make the show amazing.

Seeing Hondo is always a burst of fun, and the imperial droids brought a fun sense of action. The episode had enough good moments to be enjoyable, but seeing Azmorigan again slowed it down for me. He isn't an enjoyable character, and often raises the silliness to a level that negates the story.

NOTEBOOK:

•Hondo makes his second appearance in this season. I wonder if he plays a bigger role in this series that will be revealed later.

•The imperial droids raised some questions. It is interesting to see that The Empire uses droids at all, considering the full shutdown of the droid army the Seperatists once controlled.

•Seeing Zeb and Ezra team up was a throwback to Season 1 that has been missed.

•This was another episode written by Gary Whitta.

GRADE: 7/10

This episode wasn't bad. My expectations are starting to change for stories that move the overall series along as we head to the middle of the season, though.
