TFN Rebels Review: "Imperial Super Commandos"

Posted by Ryan on May 16, 2017 at 09:26 PM CST

We go full Mando in this week's episode of Rebels, and it's awesome.

In this episode we get a heavy dose of the state of Mandalore and their connection to The Empire.

Fenn Rau finally becomes a true ally to the Rebels, and that could be key moving forward. In this episode we see a formidable new foe in Gar Saxon as the crew heads to investigate Concord Dawn.

This was one of the most action packed episodes of the series, and seeing things like jetpacks and heavy pursuits was thrilling.

In the end, Rau is welcomed officially to the family, and the Mandalorian storyline is only beginning. It will be interesting to see what's next.

•It was great to see the Fenn Rau storyline continue. This show jumps ahead quite a bit, and a lot of times we don't know how close each episode is. Having some continuity helps the story.

•Gar Saxon is someone to definitely keep an eye out for. He is a key player in the imperial entanglements on Mandalore.

•Sabine is really starting to emerge as the most important character of the season next to Ezra. This is clearly their story now.

•Ezra's resilience is a testament to his character's growth. He wasn't easily broken in the face of interrogation.

GRADE: 9/10

An episode with jetpacks, Manadalorians, and a lightsaber? That is a winning combination if I've ever seen one. The performances were great vocally, and this really moved the overall story along well.
