It looks as though Lucasfilm is eyeing up a Fall or Winter start for the new Jon Favreau Star Wars TV series. Omega Underground is reporting the new series, developed and written by Jon Favreau, may begin shooting by Fall of this year in order to be ready for the new Disney streaming service launching sometime in 2019.
While reports have been scarce, Favreau himself revealed a few details while attending the Solo: A Star Wars Story premiere. The series, which is to feature all new characters, will take place 7 years after the Battle of Yavin and was roughly half written at the time. It will also employ the same motion capture technology Favreau used on his smash hit, 2016's The Jungle Book.
More recently we've learned that he's enlisted the help of veteran Star Wars artists Doug Chiang and Andrew L. Jones, both of whom worked with Favreau on The Jungle Book.
There is no title as of yet and no directors have been announced, but with filming potentially beginning this Fall, we should hear something soon.
Stay tuned for more!
