Report: Bad Robot HQ Getting Expansion For Episode VII Post-Production

Posted by Eric on September 11, 2013 at 08:26 PM CST

The Hollywood Reporter has a source saying that J.J. Abrams "is converting a portion of his Bad Robot headquarters into production spaces built specifically" for Star Wars Episode VII.

You may remember that Abrams told an audience at the Produced By Conference that he had reservations about moving to London for the film's production. Referring to his kids, he joked, "When you're 13 and 14, it's like, f--k that, I don't care what the movie is."

Now THR is claiming that the Bad Robot building in California will get an upgrade and expansion to allow Abrams to conduct more work on the film closer to home:

A green room, sound studios and other new facilities will be developed within the three-story, 18,000-square-foot Santa Monica building, which already includes editing bays, a workshop for making props, a screening room that can double as a set and Abrams' personal suite of offices.
There has been no official comment about this report from Bad Robot or Disney.
