No, Benedict Cumberbatch Is Not The Star Wars Teaser Voice

There's been a lot of discussion about whose voice we're hearing in the teaser trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Lucasfilm hasn't commented on the record, but at least we know for sure who it isn't.

"I am not the voice of the Star Wars trailer," Sherlock star and man-who-is-rumored-to-be-in-everything Benedict Cumberbatch told RadioTimes. "Nor am I the hooded character with the rather cool new lightsaber."

Cumberbatch further denied that he was in the movie at all. That ought to be that.

Numerous entertainment outlets, beginning with Collider, have said that Andy Serkis provides the voice in the teaser. Serkis may have hinted at this himself in a BBC interview (at 2:15 in the clip). Either way, given how many outlets are saying it's him, it's hard to believe otherwise.
