Benicio Del Toro Would Like To Play DJ Again

Benicio del Toro made his Star Wars debut in last years Star Wars: The Last Jedi as master codebreaker/slicer DJ, a character that del Toro apparently would like to reprise if J.J. Abrams asks. DJ, which is short for "don't join" helped Finn and Rose sneak aboard the "Supremacy" and attempt to shut down their hyperspace tracking system. He of course turned on them and made a deal with the First Order, turning them over the Captain Phasma.

While promoting his latest film, Sicario: Day of the Soldado, del Toro was asked by Variety if he has any plans to return to Star Wars and the character of DJ. Here's the clip below...

With Episode IX set to begin filming any day now I'm sure del Toro would know by now, but of course he is a very good actor and could just be keeping any involvement he has in the final installment a secret. We when we last saw his character he had left the "Supremacy" with a fair bit of credits and a ship so we do know he likely survived its destruction.

With the Resistance numbers down to almost nothing, they could use someone with his type of talents should DJ expereicne a change of heart and decide to help. Guess we'll have to wait and see.
