New Evidence Suggests Episode VII's Working Title Is 'AVCO'

Posted by Eric on May 7, 2014 at 08:24 AM CST

Yesterday, Bleeding Cool reported that Star Wars Episode VII's codename was "Avco," after the Los Angeles theater that was the city's first cinema to install Lucasfilm's THX sound-system technology. The website also provided convincing evidence, in the form of a screenshot of a LinkedIn page belonging to a film crew member whose past projects included "Avco at Lucasfilm."

Later in the day, MakingStarWars posted a picture of an industry newsletter listing "Star Wars Ep 7 aka AVCO" as one of several films in pre-production. The full newsletter is available here. See page 8 for the Avco mention.

MSW also posted a screenshot from a second LinkedIn user's profile that listed one of their current job as "H&S Advisor (Stunts) at "AVCO" Foodles Productions (UK) Ltd." This tracks with a rumor we heard last August about "Foodles Productions" being Episode VII's production codename.
