IGN's Eric Goldman spoke to Star Wars Rebels executive producer Greg Weisman about what it was like to work on the new series with fellow EPs Simon Kinberg and Dave Filoni. The interview offers a nice look at the trio's approach to plotting out stories in the inter-trilogy time period. Here's an excerpt where Weisman discusses the creative process:
"[T]here are guys like Leland Cheeand and Pablo Hidalgo who are working with Lucasfilm. Pablo in particular has been on the story team from the beginning, and aside from being really smart and good at story, Pablo is also like a breathing, walking, talking Wookieepedia. There are moments you can watch as Dave actually tries to stump Pablo with something, but it's very, very difficult to do. So what that means is that, even when my knowledge falls short, I've got someone to go to to say, ‘Okay, I want to do something like this. What can we use from the canon to fit this story?’"Check out the entire interview here.
