Entertainment Weekly Spotlights Star Wars Rebels, Revealing New Look For Inquisitor's Lightsaber

Posted by Eric on January 10, 2014 at 12:22 PM CST

Last night, Lucasfilm spokeswoman Tracy Cannobbio announced that the current issue of Entertainment Weekly mentions Star Wars Rebels in its Fall 2014 TV preview.

There's no new information in the article, but there is something interesting about the picture of the Imperial Inquisitor. We previously saw him with a lightsaber hilt that looked more like a donut (see image above left), but now the lightsaber's hilt is only a half-circle (see image above right).

Why does the hilt look different in the two pictures? Pablo Hidalgo answered a fan question about it by saying, "It'll make sense once you see it in action," which suggests that the hilt may spin or perform some other function when the weapon is in use.
