Empire Magazine Unveils Star Wars Collector Newsstand Covers

Posted by Steve on August 6, 2018 at 09:10 AM CST

Last week Empire Magazine announced the winner of their “Greatest Star Wars Character of All Time” poll which their readers voted on. Along with that announcement came a striking cover available to subscribers only which featured the polls winner, Han Solo, played of course on screen by Harrison Ford and now Alden Ehrenreich.

Solo topped a list which featured new and old legends such as Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, Kylo Ren and Yoda. But according to Empire, the choice was obvious...

"The Star Wars saga is packed with all kinds of dashing do-gooders and bold baddies – but it’s only fitting that the character who soared in and smuggled his way to the #1 spot is the galaxy’s greatest rogue: Han Solo. From Harrison Ford’s iconic performances in the Original Trilogy, to his glorious return (and heart-wrenching demise) in The Force Awakens, to Alden Ehrenreich’s youthful reinvention in Solo: A Star Wars Story, the swaggering space cowboy received more votes than anyone else from George Lucas’ sci-fi universe. You love him, and he knows."

The September issue, which features an in depth look at the polling results, will feature six collector covers each with an iconic Star Wars character gracing the cover. It includes all of our favorites including Princess Leia, Luke Skywalker and newcomers Kylo Ren and Rey, who are clearly making their case for two of the greatest of all time.

The issue hits stands this week and you can see the six covers below...
