Disney: Script For Episode VII Expected In January, No Budget Set

Walt Disney Studios chairman Alan Horn made some comments about Star Wars Episode VII, future Star Wars films, and Disney's acquisition of the Indiana Jones film rights during a talk at Variety magazine's Dealmakers Breakfast. Variety reporter Marc Graser provides the following information:






The six existing Star Wars episodes have had relatively consistent budgets, although there is a clear gap between the two trilogies. The average budget for the original trilogy was $20.5 million, while the average for the prequels was $114 million. 2002's Attack of the Clones was the most expensive film in the saga at $115 million; that's around $146 million in 2012 dollars.
