Star Wars: The Last Jedi Well Represented At The Teen Choice Awards

Posted by Steve on June 15, 2018 at 12:17 AM CST

Rian Johnson's Star Wars: The Last Jedi has earned six nominations in three different categories at this year's Teen Choice Awards which airs this August on Fox. This number is a tad lower than its predecessor, 2015's The Force Awakens, which was nominated in six categories including multiple nods for newcomers Daisy Ridley and John Boyega. Adam Driver would win for best villain that year while Ridley would take home the prize for Breakout Star.

Noteworthy nominations this year include both Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher who are both up for individual acting awards, Fisher of course passing away before the film's release. Here's the complete list of nominations:

Choice Fantasy Movie

The Last Jedi

Choice Fantasy Movie Actor

John Boyega
Mark Hamill
Oscar Isaac

Choice Fantasy Movie Actress

Carrie Fisher
Daisy Ridley

It's worth noting John Boyega and Daisy Ridley have been nominated for other films as well, Boyega for his leading role in the sequel Pacific Rim: Uprising and Ridley for her part in the murder mystery Murder on the Orient Express. Other Star Wars alum being recognized includes freshly anointed Lando Calrissian, Donald Glover, who is nominated for both Choice R&B/Hip-Hop Artist and Choice Song: Male Artist for his Childish Gambino hit ‘This is America.’

The 20th annual Teen Choice Awards airs Sunday, August 12 on Fox
