Famous Star Wars Blaster Fetches High Price

One of the blasters used by Harrison Ford in Episode VI - Return of the Jedi just sold at an auction in Las Vegas for $550,000! The BlasTech DL-44, which is made mostly of wood, had spent more than 30 years in the possession of the film's art director James Schoppe who put up a total of 40 other items including an Ewok axe and plans for Jabba the Hutt's sail barge.

The Julien Auction, which was held at the Planet Hollywood Casino and Hotel, said the buyer of the iconic blaster was the "Ripley's Believe it Or Not" museum and was the top selling item at the auction.

Worth noting, the most expensive piece of Star Wars memorabilia ever sold at an auction was an R2-D2 droid used in several Star Wars films. A single Star Wars fan paid $2.76 million for it last year in Los Angeles!
