Star Wars Reads Day 2013 Announced

Posted by Eric on June 1, 2013 at 12:46 PM CST

The official Facebook page for Star Wars Reads Day has announced the date for this year's celebration of all things literature. That date is Saturday, October 5. The Official Star Wars Site posted an article later in the day with more information. The post confirmed that publishers Abrams, Chronicle Books, Dark Horse, Del Rey, DK, Quirk Books, Random House Audio, Scholastic, Titan Magazines, and Workman are once again partnering with Lucasfilm to host local author events across the country on Star Wars Reads Day. There will be events in cities including Ann Arbor, MI; Austin, TX; Madison, WI; New York, NY; Seattle, WA; and many more.

According to Lucasfilm, last year's event (held on October 6, 2012) featured thirty Star Wars authors and more than 1,200 local reading events in North America.

Stay tuned for more details about specific events, including which authors will be making appearances.

In the meantime, Quirk Books -- publisher of Williams Shakespeare's Star Wars -- put on a lightsaber duel at this year's BookExpo America conference.
