What To Expect From NYCC Is This Weekend

STAR WARS HITS NEW YORK THIS WEEK WITH A SNEAK PEEK AT STAR WARS REBELS SEASON TWO, HASBRO'S LATEST TOYS, AND MORE!


There’s a lot of Star Wars going on — enough to fill 10 panels at New York Comic Con.

The event will feature a panel discussion and sneak peek of Star Wars Rebels Season Two, live readings from authors of Star Wars publications, Hasbro’s newest action figures, authors from the Journey to The Force Awakens series, art demonstrations, and much, much more.

Don’t worry about keeping track of all these panels, we’ve compiled a schedule of times and dates so you can focus your energy on everything going on from October 8-11 at the Javits Center. Clear your mind must be.

Thursday, October 8

Hasbro Star Wars, 11:15 a.m. – 12:15 p.m.; Room 1A24
Join members of the Hasbro team as they discuss the popular Hasbro Star Wars line that hit shelves on Force Friday! Attendees will get an in-depth look at Hasbro’s latest action-figure offerings with a look at new products coming later this year.

Star Wars Rebels Season 2 Panel, 1:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.; Empire Stage 1-E
With new episodes of the exciting second season of Star Wars Rebels debuting on Disney XD this fall, fans will get an exclusive sneak peek of what’s to come in a panel featuring special guests and a discussion of the new storylines and characters being introduced. Now considered a very real threat to the Empire, the Ghost crew has caught the attention of Darth Vader himself, who will stop at nothing to hunt them down. Undeterred, the rebels will seek out old friends and add powerful allies to their cause, forming the beginnings of a more formidable alliance against the Empire. Find out what’s coming in the highly-anticipated second season of Star Wars Rebels and be sure to return to the Empire Stage at 5:30 p.m. for a sneak preview of two new episodes from the series!

Star Wars Fan Meet-up, 3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.; Room 1E03

Star Wars Rebels Season 2 Sneak Preview, 5:30 p.m. – 6:45 p.m.; Empire Stage 1-E
Fans are invited to a sneak-preview screening of two new episodes from the highly anticipated second season of Star Wars Rebels, which will feature the series debut of Captain Rex, Captain Gregor, and Commander Wolffe — three clones from the previous Star Wars animated series, Star Wars: The Clone Wars. They join another fan favorite from the show, Ahsoka Tano, who made her Star Wars Rebels debut in the final episode of Season One. Fans of both series won’t want to miss this incredible preview of what’s to come in the all-new episodes from the second season of Star Wars Rebels!

Friday, October 9

Star Wars: A Galaxy of Fandom, 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.; Room 1A24
The new era of Star Wars is here! Join special guests from the worlds of games, books, comics, and entertainment as they share memories of seeing Star Wars for the first time and discuss how the sprawling space epic shaped their lives and more. Geek out over your favorite parts of that galaxy far, far away with superfans from Wookieepedia and get hyped for The Force Awakens and other exciting new chapters in the Star Wars saga!

Star Wars Collectibles Update with Lucasfilm’s Anita Castellar, 1:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.; Room 1A21
Join a surprise panelist as we make an exciting announcement for the future of Star Wars collectibles. Moderating will be Anita Castellar, a self-professed Star Wars fangirl who manages licensing for hardlines categories at Lucasfilm such as toys, collectibles, consumer electronics, automotives, and more.

The Cute Side of the Force: Drawing Star Wars Creatures with Lauren Perry, 1:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.; Family HQ – 1C01
Travel to a galaxy far, far away with pop art painter Lauren Perry (My Little Pony, Topps Star Wars Trading Cards) as she teaches kids how to draw the creatures and critters of the Star Wars universe at their cuddliest! From Wampas to Wookiees and everything in between, take your first step into a cuter world!

Learn to Sketch like Sabine from Star Wars Rebels, 2:45 p.m. – 3:45 p.m.; Family HQ – 1C01
Learn to sketch like Sabine from Star Wars Rebels with the illustrator from the “Sabine: My Rebel Sketchbook” by Annie Stoll. You’ll learn how to gesture-draw and sketch some of your favorite characters from Star Wars. Get ready to unleash your imagination and defeat the Empire with art! All ages and skill levels welcome.

Saturday, October 10

Disney-Lucasfilm Publishing Presents: Star Wars: Journey to The Force Awakens, 12:15 p.m. – 1:15 p.m.; Room 1A21
While Star Wars fans eagerly await the new movie The Force Awakens, there’s a new crop of titles coming out from Disney-Lucasfilm Press this fall that will take readers on a Journey to The Force Awakens — with intriguing narratives and variant perspectives of the events taking place in that remote galaxy. Now NYCC attendees can hear from the authors penning these titles and learn what’s new to come in the Star Wars universe.

Sunday, October 11

Lucasfilm Presents: Star Wars: A Galactic Reader’s Theatre, 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m.; Room 1A21
Join a select group of authors as they give NYCC attendees a special “reader’s theatre” of stories from the Star Wars saga. Nothing too dark, daring, or dangerous is off limits and NYCC Attendees will be thrilled to experience these narratives in an all-new theatrical way.
