Lucasfilm Clarifies Convention Plans; No Ep. VII News At SDCC

Posted by Eric on July 11, 2013 at 07:51 AM CST

While San Diego Comic-Con (July 17-21) will feature a Lucasfilm presence and a day full of Star Wars programming (so-called "Star Wars Friday"), Lucasfilm wants fans to know that they shouldn't hold their breath for Episode VII news at the convention. In a statement released late last night, the company said, "Despite speculation to the contrary ... there will be no Episode VII content."

There were also rumors yesterday about Episode VII-related announcements at D23 Expo (August 9-11), but based on the StarWars.com statement, those seem to be false.

The statement also mentions Celebration Europe II (July 26-28), where, "for the first time, Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy, as well as other behind-the-scenes talents who will help shape the future of Star Wars."
