Star Wars: Death Star II Closed Environment Foils Posted By Josh on October 18, 2000
This is an official statement from Decipher on the foils that are awarded in DSII Closed Environment tournaments.
"The Death Star II Closed-Environment foils are on their way!
The exciting program devised for the special Death Star II Closed-Environment tournaments is still on track and has started on October 1st, as planned. However, the rollout of the exclusive foil cards prepared for the occasion was unavoidably delayed. But all the Imperial entanglements have been cleared up, and the special foils are being sent out right now!
Every tournament director who holds a sanctioned Death Star II Closed-Environment tournament will receive a pair of the beautiful new foil cards for use as prize support for their next DSII Closed-Environment event. One goes to the winner, while the other is randomly awarded to one of the other players. Participation in one of those special tournaments is currently the only way to get a shot at the exclusive foil cards. And yes, we?ve been keeping track of all tournaments since October 1st, and we will make sure that everybody is taken care of.
In addition to the exclusive foils, every tournament director who holds four sanctioned DSII Closed-Environment tournaments will be sent a hot new Emperor Palpatine T-shirt. This extra treat is not intended as prize support, but is rather a "thank you" note from Decipher. Wear it with pride! And wash with care: each tournament director will only get one of those gems.
The special foil program will last for a period of four months, which means that January 31st, 2001 is the cut-off day. Beyond that point, regular prize support will be sent out for DSII Closed-Environment tournaments. But the Emperor T-shirt program will go on as long as supplies last; when tournament directors run their first four sanctioned DSII Closed-Environment tournaments, they get their Palpatine T-shirt. No Jedi training required. So this is no time for idleness! The fate of the galaxy (or the fame of your household) is in your hands.
Can you cut it in the close-quarter confrontations of this new tournament environment? Grab your decks and go find out!"
