Will Mandalorians Be In Episode II? Posted By Scott on January 18, 2002
Robert Duko sends the following:
I just saw your posting of the Episode II Visual Dictionary cover. For the close-up on Jango Fett's Helmet, the caption pointing to it says "Mandalorian Helmet". I remember reading a report on your site months ago that said there would be no mention of the Mandalorians in Episode II. Is this to change? Is there any more information about this?
As far as we know, there's no specific mention of "Mandalorians" in Episode II in the dialogue. Jango Fett wears Mandalorian armor, but we don't know how deep they go into his history in Episode II and if the Mandalores are even mentioned.
However, an upcoming Jango Fett comic promises to deeply cover the Mandalorian issue:
Star Wars: Jango Fett -- Open Seasons #1 (of 4)
By: Haden Blackman & Ramon F. Bachs & Raul Fernandez Cover by: Ramon F. Bachs
Jango Fett is the master bounty hunter of his time -- a man feared and respected throughout the galaxy. But he wasn't always a bounty hunter. Once he was a simple farm boy from the Outer Rim. But when his family was murdered by the criminal mercenary band known as the Death Watch, Jango fell in with another group of soldiers, the elite Mandalore Warriors -- who offer him a chance for revenge! Open Seasons offers an in-depth look at one of the most exciting new characters from Episode II. Written by LucasArts' own Haden Blackman (Starfighter -- Crossbones) and illustrated by Ramon F. Bachs (Jedi vs. Sith) Jango Fett -- Open Seasons is one series you won't want to miss!
