The Chosen One and Family

Posted By Scott on April 11, 2001

Several interesting confirmations on the Official Site today. First up, Mike Hathaway noticed the following:

In Chewbacca's new exapnded bio on the official site, there's a sentence that reads: "Little did the two smugglers realize that their cargo consisted of a legendary Jedi Knight, the son of prophesied Chosen One in Jedi mythology, and a pair of droids containing information vital to both the Empire and the Alliance.

There had been quite a bit of debate about who the Chosen One was - Luke, Anakin, or someone else. This seems to settle that.

Peter Orphanos also noticed the following in the Princess Leia entry:

The Jedi hero and General Obi-Wan Kenobi secretly transported Leia and her mother to the planet Alderaan, where she was to be raised by Kenobi's friend Bail Organa. The boy, Luke, was taken to the distant world of Tatooine. Leia has few memories of her true mother, Padmé Amidala. All that Leia can recall is that she was beautiful, but sad.

That helps confirm the sequence of events we'll see in Episode III.
