The following is spoiler material. Highlight to read:

A spy checked in with some information on one of the new alien races in Episode II - the Geonosians. As has already been established, they live on the planet Geonosis. They closely resemble the battledroids, so it's reasonable to assume the are the manufacturers of them. And if you saw some of the storyboards that leaked out a while back, you saw that there were several variations of them.

Our spy has checked in with a listing of just what Geonosian variations we'll see:

Geonosian Flyer - this is a branch of the species that has wings and can fly. It can be seen in some of the storyboards.

Geonosian Picador - Just like in the Spanish bullfights, the picador rides a horse-like creature and carries a long spear.

Geonosian Worker - Just a plain version of the species that presumably works in the battledroid factories.

Geonosian Guard - Another warrior version.

So, as you can see, they seem to be an ant-like species with workers, warriors, and winged versions. (Hmmm...is there a queen?)
