SPY REPORT: Aurra Sing Video Game

Posted By Joshua on January 26, 2000

One of TFN's sources has left us with some very interesting information about a video game that never saw the light of day. Aurra Sing was to be the star player in a new game for an undetermined system but the game never made it past the mock-up stage:

Aurra Sing was a creation of Lucas Film Liscencing (LFL). They were impressed by how much success Lara Croft of the game Tomb Raider I, II, II and Tomb Raider the Last Revelation achieved, so they created Aurra Sing to be Lara's Star Wars equivalent.

Jack Sorensen, the former president of LucasArts, meets several times a year with the Lucasfilm board of directors. On one of those visits after the release of the movie I was told he sat down in the board room and in front of him was a box for an Aurra Sing computer game. While it was only a mockup, and when Jack inquired as to what it was, the head of LFL said it was a design for the box of the game LLL wanted Lucas Arts to make. It was decide by Mr. Sorensen that LEC would not make the game for some reason I don't know. Wouldn't that have been great?

We couldn't agree more! Anyone else care to chime in on this rumored game? Wow!

Of course, perhaps the reason they didn't make the game was because they wanted to leave the character because of her developments in SW2, or maybe just wanted to leave her more as an elusive character ...
