SPY REPORT: Another Character Name?

Posted By Joshua on July 23, 2000

Another spoiler report from insiders who confirm to us another rumored character name from Episode II. At first, we discounted this totally because of the other items in the report that seemed not quite right. And just so you know, it's about Fett, so if you don't want to know don't you dare highlight it. Now we're posting what we have heard, good or bad:

Spoilers! - Highlight to read:

The name Jango Fett has been floating around the internet for a few days now with reports on sites like Aldera.Net who suggested that first name of Boba Fett's father was Jango. TFN's sources now confirm that Temuera Morrison is playing that character, and rumors persist that he is Boba Fett's father.

And where the Fetts and bounty hunting are concerned, it's a case of keeping it all in the family ... and at some point, Aurra Sing and Fett supposedly are in at least one scene together. The bounty hunters are getting together for some reason. As always, the report surfaces more questions than answers.

Some thoughts? Well, Temuera Morrison and Daniel Logan are both Maori with Morrison is 39, Logan is 13 -making them the right age for father and son. The "mysterious young boy" description would fit a possible Fett. Earlier there were reports from NZ papers that said a young Maori boy was in the running to play a young version of Morrison. But with LFL's secretive casting... perhaps a younger version could really be a son.

As always, as we hear more so will you.

UPDATE
Kevin tells us that the name is a rather famous name for a spaghetti western bounty hunter. In the original movie he is sort of like Clint Eastwood's character in the Sergio Leone movies. Interesting throwback, and another warning that this could just be what they're calling the character on set and not the final incarnation.
