New Select Picture Location Discovered!

Posted By Chris on July 20, 2000

Earlier tonight the Official Site posted the newest Select Photo. Padme's location struck me (Chris) as being VERY familiar, so I popped in a tape from the original trilogy. What follows is SPOILER so highlight to read: Padme is sitting on the "catwalk" that connects the Lars garage -- the very same one that Luke Skywalker cleans the droids in ANH -- to the rest of the Lars homestead. You can see this same metal walkway and the door in the scene in Episode 4 when Luke leaves dinner with Owen and Beru, returns to the garage and finds Threepio hiding. It is EXACTLY the same!

We weren't the only ones to notice this. Sean "Seany-Wan Kenobi" Cleary and his friend were the first readers to find this also:

SPOILER:My friend Owen Darkfellow and I have figured out where Padme is in the Episode II select photo. If you look closely, she is in Owen's garage!!! Don't believe me? Check out Episode IV and the reason why its blue screen is because they have to add the desert and perhaps an T-16 Skyhopper! Granted its pure speculation, but it sure looks like the garage that Luke worked on Threepio and R2.

Interesting!

UPDATE 1
Josh here with an update already! Scoogs shoots us this amazing comparison shot. There can be no question, this is definitely what it is:

UPDATE 2
And we just got this email from Creepio sending us this scan from an Art of Star Wars book. We're totally convinced:
