More SW Insider Details

Posted By Joshua on March 18, 2002

Darth Larry got his new SW Insider today and noted the interesting points from the prequel update:

All of the principal actors are returning--including Christopher Lee and Jimmy Smits.

this is a direct quote, "Contrary to rumors, Liam Neeson did not film anything for Episode II."

he also discounts the rumor about Gabriel Byrne being cast, saying its just "not true".

he says casting for Episode III will be a lot smaller, since all the main roles have been filled--only a few small roles remain, including a new bad guy

He's begun the negotiating for a new lease for Fox Studios in Australia

location scouting this summer, wardrobe department in november, principal photography in summer 2003.

there are two new designers on the team: Eric Tiemens and Ryan Church

oh, and here's another disappointing quote, which you could possibly read a couple of different ways, "I don't think anything is going to happen for the DVDs of the classic movies until we finish these three films. People don't seem to understand how much work goes into a DVD. It takes a long time to get it right. I had the effects guys working on the Phantom Menace DVD for 8 months. I had to wait for the right people to do it--its like making a movie. So, I would tell fans not to expect a DVDs for the original films until after the third and final film is released.

And Philip got this great new image of a Dug on Corusant with the lower photo featuring Padme as well.
