Master Replicas Unveils Star Wars Episode II Collectibles

Posted By Thomas on April 23, 2002

The official press release from Master Replicas:

MASTER REPLICAS UNVEILS STAR WARS EPISODE II COLLECTIBLES

After weeks of building anticipation, Master Replicas today announced the first three collectibles for purchase from their Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones collection.

For the first time ever, collectors will be able to own licensed and detailed replicas of Obi-Wan Kenobi and Yoda lightsabers from Star Wars Episode II. In addition the Anakin Skywalker Lightsaber, Force FX Collectible featuring a glowing blade and authentic sound effects will be available for purchase.

"May the Force be with you," Yoda to Obi-Wan Kenobi, Star Wars: Attack of the Clones

The Yoda Lightsaber is expected to draw a great deal of interest given the immense popularity of this beloved character and the excitement surrounding the unveiling of his lightsaber skills in Attack of the Clones. The Yoda Lightsaber has an extremely distinctive look compared to all of the other lightsabers, with the size and elegance of the lightsaber reflective of Yoda's unique stature.

Constructed from durable machined and die-cast components, the Yoda Lightsaber comes with a museum quality hardwood and acrylic display case for the suggested retail price of $249. As a limited edition collectible, only 2,500 of the Yoda Lightsaber are available for purchase starting with the April 23, 2002 release date.

"A Jedi's saber is his most precious possession," Obi-Wan Kenobi to Anakin Skywalker, Star Wars: Attack of the Clones

The Obi-Wan Kenobi Lightsaber from Attack of the Clones is also expected to be extremely popular. The Obi-Wan Kenobi Lightsaber from Star Wars Episode II is expected to be in high demand because the design is unique compared to Obi-Wan's previous lightsaber from Star Wars Episode I.

Faithful in every detail to the on-screen lightsaber prop, the Obi-Wan Kenobi Lightsaber is a limited edition collectible with only 2,500 available worldwide starting with the April 23, 2002 release date. Constructed from durable machined and die-cast components, the Obi-Wan Kenobi Lightsaber has a suggested retail price of $299. (A museum quality display case is available for separate purchase.)

"I will be the most powerful Jedi ever," Anakin Skywalker to Padme*? Amidala, Star Wars: Attack of the Clones

Finally, in a technological breakthrough for licensed prop replicas, Master Replicas is proud to announce the launch of the Force FX Collectible Anakin Skywalker Lightsaber from Star Wars Episode II. With a hilt constructed from die-cast metal components, the Anakin Skywalker Lightsaber features an electro-luminescent blade that is encased within a permanently attached durable blade. Once activated, the blade glows brightly and the lightsaber plays back digitally recorded sound effects taken directly from the movie.

Expected to have broad appeal for all types of collectors, the Anakin Skywalker Lightsaber has a suggested retail price of $129.
