EOnline Clones Report Posted By Joshua on April 11, 2002
In addition to more Star Wars celebrity stories, EOnline has posted a summary of the week's events, from lines forming to the soundtrack being reviewed. Here's a clip from the first page of the series:
A Little Jedi Knight Music: Next week, the first video from the Clones soundtrack will air on MTV and VH1, though we're not sure if Carson Daly's TRL posse is gonna swoon. The "Across the Stars" video will feature effects shots and dialogue not seen in the trailers, along with the movie's love theme, an orchestral ditty by John Williams.
The album arrives April 23, but online reviews are already declaring it a masterpiece, way better than the million-selling Episode I score. "Stunning and driven, a bittersweet melody of hate and hope," writes Joshua Griffin on TheForce.net. "We feel the heavy emotion of the clarinet and brooding themes of darkness."
The album doesn't plant any spoilers like The Phantom Menace soundtrack did. (One title gave away--d'oh!--the fact that Qui-Gon Jinn (Liam Neeson) bites the dust.) But we can decode a few cool facts: One of the four album covers--collect 'em all!--features Yoda holding an ominous glowing ball, fueling further speculation about how the itty bitty Jedi master will handle actual combat. (We hear he'll be gripping a light saber, too.)
