Empire Magazine Features Jango Fett Posted By Joshua on April 27, 2002
We continue our exclusive reports from Empire Magazine, up this Saturday morning is Jango Fett. Here's a sampling of the feature article in the print magazine:
"My guy's the original! Boba's only Mk. II!" Think Boba Fett is cool? Now getta load of his dad...
Kickabouts in the back garden. Strife over homework. That inevitable chat about birds and bees. Some father/son traditions span the universe.
Even, it would seem, as far as the Fett homestead, pad of Boba - the 14 year-old tyke who will later become the galaxy's most feared bounty hunter - and his old man, Jango. "He can beg for the keys as much as he likes," says the latter, aka Temuera Morrison. "But there's no way I'm letting Boba take Slave I out for a spin. That spaceship's my pride and joy. Nobody gets to drive that baby but me!"Back on terra firma, of course, the fruit of Morrison's real-life loins (his seven year-old son) causes him far less strife. Now unquestionably the coolest dad on playground collection duties, his casting as Attack Of The Clones' standout villain (Fett Sr. is "Darth Maul times two") has, however, not only made him the apple of his boy's eye, but that of fans the world over.
"Oh, it's a huge pressure," says Morrison, "and Jango's quite an unassuming guy in many ways." Unassuming? Jango "Jet Pack And Blasters" Fett? "Ah. Yeah. Maybe that's not strictly true," he laughs. "Perhaps it's that he's much more a bloke of action than of words. Better?"
