CartoonNetwork.com Brings Star Wars: Clone Wars Action Online New Game and Behind-the-Scenes Information to Complement On-Air Programming Event Beginning November 7
When Star Wars: Clone Wars, an "epic micro-series" consisting of 20 animated shorts begins on Cartoon Network, the saga will also live online at CartoonNetwork.com with a new game, complete chapter guide, and behind-the-scenes information. Fans can go online to the Star Wars: Clone Wars site, CartoonNetwork.com/clonewars, and choose to walk the path of the Jedi or descend into the Dark Side in an epic online experience that combines the game, Planetary Forces, character bios and in-depth Star Wars data to create an adventure unique among web sites.
Star Wars: Clone Wars continues the saga where the live action feature film Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones left off - at the beginning of the Clone Wars, an epic civil war that pits the old Republic against a vast separatist movement led by the forces of evil Count Dooku. The first episode of the ten chapters to air this fall will air Friday, November 7 at 8 p.m. (ET, PT).
Online users at CartoonNetwork.com will be able to experience the Star Wars: Clone Wars site from two totally distinct perspectives, allowing users to draw deeper into the struggle between light and dark -- the essence of the Star Wars legacy. Planetary Forces is a three-fold game, playable from either the light or dark side. Players can choose to guide Jedi Kit Fisto through the waters of Mon Calamari, or seek to destroy him as the Quarren Commander. A swoop bike demolition derby on Muunilinst pits Jedi Obi-Wan Kenobi against the bounty hunter, Durge. On Rattatak, Jedi Padawan Anakin Skywalker duels to the finish against the Dark Jedi Asajj Ventress.
The site also includes a "Planets", "Character", "Vehicles" section, giving fans the opportunity to delve even further into the Clone Wars. Users can get in-depth profiles on the nature of the opposing forces, as well as details of the various craft used by both the Republic and Separatist forces.
In addition, viewers will be able to watch the Clone Wars chapters online after they appear on-air, with the option of accessing commentary from producer/director Genndy Tartakovsky. This unique experience on the Web creates an original and compelling environment that portrays the scope and grandeur of the much-beloved Star Wars mythos as interpreted by Genndy Tartakovsky and the Star Wars: Clone Wars creative team.
