Young Jedi Proposes at EP3 Screening in Illinois Posted By Britany on May 25, 2005
Here's the third proposal at an Episode III screening we've heard about.
Bryan writes:
I just wanted to share with you all my incredible experience. I was planning to ask my girlfriend to marry me and did so during a showing Saturday night of Revenge of the Sith.
The Hollywood Boulevard theater in Woodridge, Illinois had a Star Wars extravaganza last weekend, with characters in costumes, games and even Ray Park (Darth Maul) and Rena Owen (Taun We) signing autographs.
With a lot of help from the special events coordinator, I was able to put up a message before the screening. The lights went down promptly at 8pm and the first slide came up, blue letters on a black screen reading "A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away... A young Jedi pondered an important question..." That stayed up for about 10 seconds, and I could hear some of the other theatergoers wondering if it was a commercial. After that, the next slide popped up reading: "Jennifer, join me and together we will rule the galaxy. Will you marry me? Love, Bryan." At this point a gasp went through the crowd, and I stood up with the ring in hand. The entire theater rose in a standing ovation as I got down on one knee and asked Jennifer, slipping the ring on her trembling hand.
Needless to say she said yes, and while the projectionist announced their congratulations, the servers brought us out champagne. and the coordinator even got pictures of the entire affair. Everything worked out perfectly, and being able to have our family and friends there was even better. It was a Star Wars moment we'll never forget and we're happy to share it with you.
