Thought you guys might be interested in this amazing photo I took at the Revenge of the Sith premier in Leicester Square on Monday evening last week (16/5/05). I nearly fell off my step-ladder taking it! The shot was a complete fluke.
I had taken over 100 photos on my girlfriend's little 3MP Canon IXUS. Unfortunately most of them were out of focus, or had bad light or someone in the way etc. For 3 hours I stood in the rain on a step ladder. The battery light had started to flash and most of the guests had already entered the cinema so I was about to call it a day.
Just at that point, I noticed a group come back outside. I could see Peter Mayhew (he's tall!) and a few others gathering in front of a TV camera, so I held the camera up high and pointed it in the rough direction of were they were all standing. Just as I pressed the button, a bunch of gas flame throwers went off behind me (they were part of the extravaganza). The camera then went dead. I had no idea how the shot turned out, or who was actually in it until I got home. I was stunned when I plugged it into my PC. Unbelievable!
