Problems at EP3 Screening in Louisiana Posted By Britany on May 24, 2005
2theadvocate reports on a screening problem at the Grand Cinema in Baton Rouge:
The evening started with hundreds of fans lined up around the theater, choreographed light-saber battles and a palpable sense of anticipation.
It ended only a few hours later with sullen faces, theater employees peeling off $10 refunds as fast as they could and an angry fan's blue minivan speeding out of the parking lot with Darth Vader's instantly recognizable theme song blaring darkly from its speakers.
It was, for The Grand Cinema, a case of the most-horrible timing in this, or any other, galaxy -- a projector malfunction cut off the theater's midnight screening of "Star Wars: Episode III -- Revenge of the Sith" twice during the first 15 minutes, forcing it to pull the plug on the event.
With eight synchronized projectors screening the theater's only print, the entire affair stopped dead in its tracks.
