Revenge of the Sith showed on three screens at the Carmike 10 here in Great Falls.
All three screens sold out, with the first one selling out in about 5 minutes according to the manager, and by 5 PM all three had sold out. There were no advance ticket sales here. My wife went over about 11 AM to purchase our tickets then when I got off work we went and got in line, which was about 5:30 PM.
It was a really good line, with several Darth Vaders, an awesome Stormtrooper, a couple of Princess Leia's and a lot of lightsabers. People talked, laughed, listened to music, and had a good time waiting.
A local radio station had a DJ there who was making telephone call-ins to the station frequently with on air commentary about the line, the people and the movie. The DJ was a huge Star Wars fan himself and was doing on air trivia with winners getting tickets to the sold out show or t-shirts if they already had tickets.
We were worried because they weren't going to open the doors to us until about 11:40 PM for a 12:01 AM showing. We didn't see how they would get 500+ people served with refreshments and seated before time to start the film, but they somehow did and the screen I was in showed it without a hitch.
The crowd cheered at the beginning, then sat in nearly stunned silence throughout the film, then broke into loud applause at the end. Comments I heard on the way out were extremely positive.
