Newsday reports on a New York midnight screening of Episode III last week:

"Star Wars is the Super Bowl of movies," said Ken Dalessio, 34, Thursday as he stood outside United Artists Farmingdale Stadium 10 with fellow members of Docking Bay 516, a Long Island Star Wars fan club, some of whom dressed as Jedi and storm troopers.

"There's no bigger day," Dalessio said. "Tell me the last time you remember people lined up in the theaters and taking the day off from work -- it only happens with Star Wars."

Dalessio was one of many across this galaxy, or at least this country, who felt the force and ventured to theaters at midnight Thursday to watch the film that details Anakin's journey to the dark side and transformation into the masked, black-cloaked Darth Vader.
