LOS ANGELES STAR WARS FANS CELEBRATE THE FINAL DAYS OF THEIR BIGGEST LINE YET
HOLLYWOOD, CA - It's less than a week until the release of Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith on May 19, and the fans of LiningUp.Net are already celebrating the conclusion of George Lucas' epic saga and their biggest line ever.
Charity donations have topped $30,000 for the Starlight-Starbright Children's Foundation, which helps to brighten the lives of seriously ill children and their families through a variety of activities, including Starlight Sites, Fun Centers, PC Pals, Hospital Happenings and Starbright World. Donations to date have shattered the previously-announced charity goal of $20,000, thanks to generous support from Netflix and the dedicated fans who've waited these past six weeks on Hollywood Boulevard.
All told, over 150 fans registered with LiningUp.Net to participate in the Episode III line, using a sign-in and sign-out system that allowed members to accrue hours at their convenience and then leave the line to keep up with jobs, school and other life priorities. Reflecting the wide-ranging impact of the Star Wars phenomenon, line members include business professionals, students, and homemakers, with some members travelling from as far away as Europe, Taiwan, and Australia.
Though the loss of the film at Grauman's Chinese Theater has been regrettable, LiningUp.Net has done what Star Wars fans do: Make the best of things and have a good time no matter what! Line members will attend the midnight premiere at both the Arclight and Vista theaters, and will reconnect afterward for food and fun. It only goes to show you can never keep a good nerd down!
It is not too late to support LiningUp.Net's fundraising efforts for charity. LiningUp.Net accepts online donations through a special web address, liningup.net/donation, and fans can visit LiningUp.Net for photos and information from the final Star Wars line ever!
