I just wanted to write and let you know that the local Clear Channel Stations in Richmond, Virginia gave away passes to a preview showing at 7:30pm on Wed night before the official Midnight showings.
It was at a large Consolidated Theaters on the southside of town and was on 2 screens. I was very fortunate to have a contact in the radio station and got passes.
When we got there, there were people in line for the midnight showing, but only a handful. This changed considerably when we go out after the movie.
The news crews were there, people were lightsaber battling, dressed in costume and for the 4 theaters showing it, the lines were wrapped around the building. Plus I was able to get on the 11pm news.
I was very impressed with the screening and afterwards we were able to keep the passes that were given out to get into the theater.
When the movie started, the sound was a little low and the manager came into the theater and actually asked if we wanted the sound up. We agreed and he cranked it up. The only problem that we had was that some people brought their 5 and under kids to the showing and during the course of the movie, there was a consistent cry or chatter from these kids.
Overall I was extremely impressed and can't wait to see it again on Saturday.
