EP3 Midnight Screening Problem in UK Posted By Britany on May 22, 2005
Emma writes in with a report from a midnight screening in Bath, and a possible explanation for all the screening problems that have been reported:
Thought you might like to know what happened to fans at the May 19th, 00:35 screening at the Odeon in Bath.
We were fine for an hour, a handful of costumed devotees in the audience then, suddenly the lights came up and the screen fizzled out! A whole bunch of people got up to go to the toilet, then suddenly the lights dimmed and someone cheered, just as suddenly the lights came back on and the cheer became Noooo!
The manager came to calm everyone, and all we could hear in the background was the warped sound speeding up and slowing as they tried to fix the problem.
After about 5 minutes the picture returned and it began again, however, we complained that we had missed some of the film, to which we were told that they couldn't rewind it and kept apologizing- while we missed more of the film!
We made it to the end- great film- and got offered free tickets to see it again. And it made the local newspaper - the Bath Chronicle. Seems the projector has never been run all day and till 2am before and over heated!
