COLUMBUS COUPLE WAITS IN LUXURY FOR 1st STAR WARS SCREENING
The first person in line Monday at the Arena Grand Theatre for the 12:01 AM Thursday showing of 'STAR WARS: EPISODE III is David Ansley of Columbus. He and his wife, Heather, will wait in V.I.P. style fit for a Jedi Knight - in a luxury hotel room suite set up in front of the north entrance of the theatre. The suite comes complete with a canopied deluxe king bed, a dresser/hutch, seating and a entertainment system featuring a DVD player, television and video games. The hotel suite was donated by the Crowne Plaza Hotel, 33 E. Nationwide Blvd in downtown Columbus.
The theatre will provide DVD copies of the original STAR WARS trilogy and STAR WARS games to keep this "first fan" entertained while waiting for George Lucas' final installment of his 6 film epic opus.
"We think this is one of the most unique STAR WARS promotions in the country" says Drexel Theatre Group president, Jeff Frank. "Mr. Ansley gets to wait in the kind of comfort that I don't think any other STAR WARS line is offering anywhere."
The midnight screening has been sold-out for over a week and additional performances have been added at 3:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. In fact, the Grand Will run STAR WARS literally around-the-clock starting Thursday and may add additional 24-hour performance days later this week.
"As the only ALL THX movie theatre in Columbus we're finding that people want to see STAR WARS in an exceptional theatrical experience like the Grand. Since George Lucas invented THX, I think this is the best possible way to see the film."
Frank believes STAR WARS will break every attendance record at the Grand.
"It's already sold more advance tickets than any film in the history of the theatre"
