Just thought you all might like to hear about our screening at Jordan Commons in Sandy, Utah.
We went to the 1:40pm screening on opening day.
At 3:10pm, the movie stops. The house lights come up. Someone from management came in and told us that the power to the entire theatre was out, as well as the whole block, and that it had also happened earlier at 3:10 am! The theatre was now running on generators so they hurried us out the doors before it all went black, handing us tickets to come back and see it again.
They didn't know when they'd have power again and had repair crews on their way. Outside, there were a lot of frustrated fans, although I felt bad for the theatre. As we debated whether or not to try and get tickets for a later showing there was a cheer and we ran inside. THE POWER WAS ON!
We hurried to our theatre and got back in our seats. Where we had once had a packed theatre, we now had maybe thirty people because everyone else had gotten frustrated and gone home. They started the movie five seconds before it had ended and we got to watch the rest of one of the best movies ever!
Sad thing is, all the showings for the rest of the day were then delayed by about 45 minutes in a megaplex with 17 screens! OUCH!
