For fans who love to collect rare stories from the Star Wars universe, one aspect has been the RPG adventures and articles from gaming magazines of the 80's and 90's. Most of which are semi-official, in the sense that they are not approved by LFL, but others have been considered part of canon over the years thanks to references in legit sources (Merili, anyone?) and now Wookiepedia. One such magazine was GDW's Challenge Magazine, and now DriveThruRPG.com is making them available as PDF's for $1.99 each.

But wait! As a sample, they are offering for a limited time Challenge #49 for free as part of the "deal of the week". That issue includes the adventure "Dandrian's Ring" by Chris Hind.

Highlights of the Star Wars articles in the run of the magazine include some info that was left out of Galaxy Guide 7: Mos Eisley by the book's author Martin Wixted (#73-74) and a pre-prequels look at the Clone Wars-era "Battle of Mandalore" #58.
