Our friends at EUC point us over to an article at Kotaku in which it seems that Star Wars Battlefront: Elite Squadron has been presented to the Entertainment Software Ratings Board (ESRB). See below for the ratings and official descriptions:
Star Wars Battlefront: Elite Squadron Platform: PSP Rating: Teen Content descriptors: Fantasy Violence Rating summary: “This is an action game in which players experience different battles from the Star Wars universe. Presented in a third-person perspective, the game allows players to engage in space, land, and air battles or build troops and upgrade armies in a strategy-based mode. Players can use laser guns (i.e., blasters), explosives, and lightsabers to destroy enemy robots (i.e., droids) and humans who often cry out in pain when attacked. During one dramatic cutscene sequence, an unarmed man is sliced by a lightsaber, while another character is shot in the back with a blaster.”
Star Wars Battlefront: Elite Squadron Platform: Nintendo DS Rating: Everyone 10+ Content descriptors: Fantasy Violence Rating summary: ” Star Wars Battlefront: Elite Squadron is an action adventure game in which players experience different battles from the Star Wars universe. From a third-person perspective, players engage in space battles, ’speeder bike’ chases, and top-down battling. Nothing has officially been announced yet but we'll keep you psoted as we hear more. LucasArts should be at next month's E3, so our fingers are crossed for more details to come out of the convention.
UPDATE:Starwars.com has posted the official announcement! Check out the excerpt below:
"Star Wars Battlefront: Elite Squadron presents an expanded new take on the classic Star Wars Battlefront gameplay, resulting in new levels of interaction and excitement in handheld gaming. The massive, galactic campaign will ship this Fall for the PSP (PlayStation Portable) system and Nintendo DS.
For the first time ever in the Star Wars Battlefront series, players will be able to fight on multi-level battlefronts, on the ground and in space. Players can start the fight on foot, commandeer a vehicle to battle on the ground or dogfight in space, and land their craft and fight on capital starships. The battles waged on each front are all directly affected by the player's actions, creating a combat experience where every shot fired and every enemy defeated can affect the outcome of a battle on another front."
