SW Battlefront III For The Nintendo DS?

Posted By Mike on October 15, 2008

Our buddy Zee Zee of SWBooks.co.uk sent over the following from PALGN:

"A quick search of the OFLC (Office of Film and Literature Classification) database has revealed Star Wars Battlefront III was recently given a PG classification.

The game is apparently in development for the Nintendo DS, and was given the classification on October 2nd. It was submitted by Activision Blizzard, who are the distributor of LucasArts products in Australia.

Star Wars Battlefront III has long been rumoured to be in development at UK-based studio Free Radical, though no official announcement has been made. Until now it was thought the game would be appearing on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Wii, so the alleged existence of a DS version is quite surprising. We'll report back once new information becomes available."

Click here to catch up on previous Battlefront III rumors which had most recently connected the game to the Wii platform. The DS and Wii are in the same family so we shall see...

Thanks Zee Zee!

UPDATE: Bothan spies point us to French fan site Star Wars Universe who offer up confirmation of Battlefront III being in production. Click either link to see their report in English or French.

More as we hear it...especially when it's something official!
