Rob Coleman Makes the "It List" Posted By Joshua on June 23, 2002
Left My Heart In Dagobah points out the June 28/July 5 issue of Entertainment Weekly as they have their "It List" of the 100 most creative people in entertainment. Rob Coleman is the It CG-Creature Crafter.
"The native Canadian is the mastermind behind the digitally rendered Yoda in Star Wars: Episode II, transforming the Jedi master from a rickety puppet into a CG action star with more moves than Michelle Yeoh."
He credits Mary Poppins as the movie that changed his life, "When I saw a real-life Dick Van Dyke dancing with those cartoon penguins, it blew my brain out."
He longs to impress the Pixar staff, "The rumor is they don't respect the stuff we do [at ILM]."
His next goal is in creating Episode III "to get the animators to grip the idea that they're actors."
