Sam Jackson narrates TPM for the blind in LA Posted By Scott on August 20, 1999

Got some news of interest to SW fans, especially those in Southern California and elsewhere. The following blurb appeared in the Calendar section of today's (Friday, August 20, 1999) Los Angeles Times (although I could not find the same blurb in the online version of the Times):
"Samuel L. Jackson has recorded a special narration track so that the blind can enjoy 'Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace.' It screens at 9:45 a.m. Sunday at the AMC Promenade Theater in Woodland Hills."
The AMC Promenade was one of two theaters in Southern California (the other being the AMC Burbank) that had digital screenings of TPM this past July.
Also, have you checked out the LA Times' TPM web site? Among other things, it has a "latest stories" section you might be interested in and a Shockwave game where you use a light saber to fight off persons who are trying to cut in line to see TPM.
I don't know if anyone else has pointed this out to you, but your article is incorrect in stating that the AMC Promenade in Woodland Hills is one of the two places the digital version of Phantom Menace was played (the other being the AMC Burbank). The actual location of the digital Phantom Menace was the Pacific Winnetka (sp?) theater.
Oops! In any case, the LA Times still apparently reports that the Jackson narrating is at that theater listed above, so it's worth checking out.
