Last month we posted an ad from the Australian Target Catalogue which appeared to show a different case for the Episode I DVD (click here). At the time we assumed it was just a mockup for the ad, but Jedidaniel has sent in another Target ad which reads "Order Now and collect your Exclusive Collectors Box on Oct 17th" (click here). This could be a unique DVD case, but the Target website is still showing the standard DVD case. Hopefully an Australian fan will call Target today and get to the bottom of this.

The mystery of the Australian DVD Collectors Box has been solved.

It is a promotion with 20th Century Fox and the Coles Myer organisation only (which are stores like Target, K-Mart, Myers etc.). It is a glossy cardboard slip cover that goes with the normal packaging of the Episode 1 DVD Case. The picture you see on the catalogue photos is the slip case. You can only obtain it if you pre-order it at any of the particapting stores.

And Silmarillion adds:

The DVD box doesn't change, the case just slides into this new white casing you can see advertised. Essentially it's a peice of cardboard with some nice pictures that your DVD gets put into.
