"Building on the successful debut of the online Star Wars Galaxies Trading Card Game, LucasArts and Sony Online Entertainment LLC today launched the first expansion: Squadrons Over Corellia. This set marks the debut of digital starship cards, allowing players to dominate their opponents from space by supporting ground units, moving units from quest to quest, increasing resources via smuggling runs, as well as providing new ways to enhance the player’s avatar.

In Squadrons Over Corellia, players once again take up arms for the Empire or Rebels and battle over a secret Rebel base on the Corellian moon of Talus. This strategic stronghold acts as a launch point for Rebel sabotage efforts in the Corellian system, and harbors one of the last known Jedi Knights, Rachi Sitra."

UPDATE: The latest expansion for the Star Wars Galaxies Trading Card Game, Galactic Hunters, is headed your way in March 2009. From Starwars.com:

"Galactic Hunters takes the Star Wars Galaxies Trading Card Game in exciting new directions, for the first time giving both light and dark side players the chance to employ some of the most recognizable and legendary bounty hunters in the galaxy. Players can issue bounties on opponents with the all-new "target" keyword ability and reap the rewards of completed bounties with instant, stat-enhancing bonuses."
