The names are instantly recognizable to Star Wars fans of all levels of fandom: Ralph McQuarrie, Joe Johnston, Dennis Muren, Phil Tippett. Masterminds who brought that "galaxy far, far away" to life on the silver screen 32 years ago and has continued to permeate our lives since then. Their work on our beloved space saga has been documented in numerous books and behind-the-scenes videos.
But what fans may not easily know is that these innovative pioneers also contributed to the design & creation of other successful franchises, such as Battlestar Galactica.
See the announcement sent in to us by Marcel Damen from Galactica.tv:
"On our website we’re currently celebrating the 31st birthday of the original Battlestar Galactica series. As you know the creative team on Battlestar Galactica (like Ralph McQuarrie, Joe Johnston, John Dykstra, Lorne Peterson, Dennis Muren, Phil Tippett, etc.) also worked on Star Wars, hence why they reused some of their old ideas and sketches.
Therefore I believe many Star Wars fans out there might be interested to see this very unique, never published material:"
Rebelscum Breast Cancer Awareness Charity Patch Posted By Philip on November 25, 2014: Thanks to everybody that ordered patches. I sent a check for $1,600.00 to the National Breast Cancer Foundation on Monday. While it's not as much as I hoped for, it's still very much appreciated. They will remain for sale in the store for anybody that still wishes to purchase them. Details after the jump.
