E3: Clone Wars Adventures Update

The online experience of Clone Wars Adventures continues to more forward with regular updates and tie-ins to the television series. Massively.com stopped by the Sony Online Entertainment booth at E3 2011 and offered up a report on some new content.

Newly updated gear is available to Clone Wars Adventures players that includes outfits, weapons and housing. These updates include content directly tied-in to the most recent TCW season.

What looks to be the most significant update is the addition of the new Galactic Forces game. Galactic Forces builds off of the ever-popular Republic Defender turret defense game by letting two players battle head-to-head while trying to destroy each other's base. Single player mode is available and players can choose between representing the Republic or the Separatists.

In non-E3 Clone Wars Adventures news, it seems as if the game had experienced some technical difficulties in the recent past. I'll admit that I had not visited the site in a couple months so I was unaware. Have no fear as Clone Wars Adventures is back online and running smoothly. Below is the letter to fans from the CWA team which apologizes for the issue but also teases new updates.

"Greetings Jedi� and Padawans,

Welcome back to Star Wars�: Clone Wars Adventures�! We sincerely appreciate your patience while Clone Wars Adventures was unavailable, and are very excited to have you all back to enjoy the game. Indeed, we are so happy to welcome you back that we�ve prepared a special gift for all returning players. Want to know what it is? Jump in-game and find out!

During the recent downtime, not much changed for us developers. We stayed hard at work creating new features and content such as Galactic Forces, currently scheduled for public release in June.

Galactic Forces is a head-to-head, multiplayer tower-defense style of game where the goal is to destroy the enemy Headquarters. Choose your team, Republic or Separatist, and build structures to send infantry, vehicles and special Jedi heroes (or Dark Side villains) against your opponent.

Strategize with special add-on buildings, surprise your enemy with thermal detonators and scatter bomb power-ups, or even call in orbital strikes.

We�ve also been working on a top secret ultimate weapon� Ok, well, a cool storyline with new game-play (among other things we can�t talk about). This new saga will be announced sometime during the next couple of months, so stay tuned.

Finally, in case you missed it, we should add that over the past couple of updates we�ve released some great new content. To start with, we just unleashed the all new Fleet Commander, a multiplayer space combat strategy game, followed by the addition of multiplayer functionality to Attack Cruiser. Not long before that we released our first phase of player Squads, added Trandoshans as a playable race, and revealed the Chewie and Yoda holoprojectors.
